It was agreed by a majority of 12 votes to 2 at the AGM of the Wymondham College Association on 17th November, that the name
of the Association would be changed to The Old Wymondhamians (pronounced wind-hame-ians).
The new name gives a clearer indication of the function of the Association as representing the former pupils and staff of Wymondham College.
A new Chairman was elected –
Mr Colin Leaford with
Mr Mike Herring as Vice Chair.
The Honorary President for the Year will be
Mrs Patrica Howard (nee Marsh).

Contact from Past Pupils & Staff
We were delighted to receive a letter from David Freeman (staff 54 - 62), yesterday, whose mention in the Newsletter had prompted him to get in touch. He talked about his designs for the school badge and the fact that he still has all his original sketches – hopefully he will be kind enough to lend them to the WCRemembered site so that we can all share in a real piece of College history. Watch this space for news of other past pupils who get in touch……..
2008 Events
Opening of New 6th Form House
The new 6th Form House is expected to be ready for opening in late Spring/early Summer 2008. The Principal has suggested to the WCA Committee that the event would be an opportunity to encourage more recent leavers back to the school, along with all other past students who would like to attend. More details to follow.
2008 Reunion
A reunion is planned for the evening of Saturday 28th of June 2008. The PSA Summer Fayre will be in full swing in the afternoon, so why not make a day of it? It is also expected that Bob Rowell will be organising a Golf match and a dinner on the Friday.
Further details will follow and a booking form will be sent out next spring in the 2008 Newsletter.
If you have any items which you would like to submit to the Spring Newsletter please send them to Jackie Glenn, the Alumni Secretary
Grand National Weekend
It is intended that the Grand National weekend in April 2008 will be spent in Arundel, Sussex, at the Hilton Hotel (does have a golf course!).

CGS Reunion
In September 2009 it will be 50 years since the ‘Fringe Grammar’ was started which eventually became the County Grammar School, subsequently integrated with Wymondham College
I wonder if I might put out an appeal for any CGS Old Boys and Girls to get in touch with a view to a reunion sometime in 2009.
